This is a shot from our camp, which in the morning we discovered was quite pretty. So our original plan had been to get to camp at a decent hour, get some sleep, and get up at 6 the following morning to start the ascent by 7. This was an important goal because if we wanted to reach the summit, we had to get an early start because avalanche conditions get much worse the warmer it gets. But given that we didn't even reach camp until 11:15 and then didn't get to sleep until around 1 a.m., that plan obviously had to be changed. So we decided to just sleep until we woke up and then get as high up the mountain as we could until either exhaustion or avalanche conditions forced us to turn around.
